2021 we embarked on a lengthy journey to ensure we embraced sustainable procurement. As part of this process, we now grade the sustainability of our products. This also enables us to become more transparent and as a B Corp Certified business we are part of the broader movement toward sustainable consumption and production of our products.
As we become more environmentally and socially conscious, the demand for transparent and reliable sustainability information is likely to grow, and we want to maintain our presence as market leaders. An effective grading system will address the greenwashing issue to maintain credibility.
As part of our Elements Partner Programme, we work with our suppliers to understand more about the product we choose to offer you. Our Sustainable product grading involves assessing and rating products based on 10 key environmental and social sustainability criteria. Our goal is to provide our buyers with information about the sustainability performance of products, allowing them to make more informed and responsible purchasing decisions.
Carbon offsetting is a practice aimed at compensating for the greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) produced by individuals or businesses by investing in projects or activities that reduce or remove an equivalent amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) or other greenhouse gases from the atmosphere. Our goal is to achieve a net-zero carbon footprint, where the emissions generated are balanced by the offsetting activities.
We have already achieved carbon neutrality by working in partnership with Climate Wise to offset our Scope 1 and 2 emissions and are now working on our Scope 3 assessment.
It's important to note that whilst carbon offsetting can be a valuable tool in the short term, it should not replace efforts to directly reduce emissions at the source. Long-term sustainability requires a combination of emission reduction strategies and offsetting measures.
We believe social value involves contributing positively to society and fostering a sense of responsibility towards the well-being of others.
Our team enjoy engaging in many CSR initiatives, supporting social and environmental causes. Actively participating in community events, supporting local causes, and collaborating with community organisations are ways to share social value. This fosters a sense of togetherness and mutual support.
We extend our reach to that of our clients and love supporting their cherished causes by volunteering our time, donating goods or creating partnerships that allow us all to give back to society.
Our Elements Sustainable Partner Programme have been created to allow us to work in partnership with like-minded clients who are keen to work with us to create a more sustainable and socially responsible economy. By being part of this partnership programme allows us to understand your CSR objectives and ensure we would together to achieve them.
Our product grading information is shared to allow you to make informed choices, as well as ensuring planned carbon offsetting on every product your purchase so that we choose products with lower emissions we also offset them.
We will produce an Annual Impact Report tailored to your activity to show you have made considered purchases and include social value to give that wider positive impact
As part of our sustainable partner programme, it is not only about immediate gains, but about building lasting relationships that contribute to the success of our businesses offering huge rewards both socially and environmentally over time.Contact us now to find out more
