A Pantone colour is a particular colour identified by a reference number in the standardised colour matching system that is Pantone.

The Pantone colour matching system is most widely used by graphic designers and printers all over the world to ensure that colours reproduce correctly across different media and printers and this also ensures consistent company branding.

The most popular palette of Pantone colours that is referenced is the solids palette.  Pantones have slightly different references according to the type of media they are printed on.
Eg: Pantone 2985 Blue can be referred to as Pantone 2985U (where U = uncoated paper), Pantone 2985C (where C= coated paper) or Pantone 2985M (where M = matte paper).  These colours have a reference of 3 or 4 digits followed by one of the above letters.

Pantones are not only just used for printing on paper but also textiles and plastic.

When placing your order with us please make sure you advise us of any pantone references that are included in your design or contact our design dept to discuss your artwork if for example you need your artwork pantone matched.  We would be happy to help!
